Baltimore United Viewfinders
Baltimore United Viewfinder's mission is to foster the leadership potential of young people as social entrepreneurs producing multimedia arts for community action and income. The Viewfinders organization was founded in part to challenge the negative associations and destructive stereotypes placed on young people in Middle East Baltimore. The camera is a means to lift up the youth through an empowered and confident sense of self and destiny. The organization was co-founded in the fall of 2010 by community artists Natalie Tranelli, Anne Kotleba, and eight young people from McElderry Park and surrounding neighborhoods. Over the years, Viewfinders has become a strong force in the community through their skilled photography, graphic design, and video work. Check out a video here: https://vimeo.com/124272047
