Project I Can / CUPS Coffehouse
The mission of CUPs Coffeehouse is to employ disconnected youth and young adults, empowering them to become financially independent leaders within their families and communities. It is our belief that without opportunities to gain necessary employment, communication, and life skills, disconnected youth and young adults will continue a legacy of unemployment, insufficient income levels, above-average arrest rates, and parental absenteeism. We believe that in order for these cycles to be broken, job opportunities must be made readily available in an environment that is focused on training and developing practical job and life skills that are transferable to any career or life circumstance. CUPs employees receive direct training where they gain both hard and soft job skills, providing them with the skills and experience necessary and applicable in the restaurant field and service industry. Support for hard and soft job skills is also provided through enrichment courses, which assists employees with communication, behavior management, and practical skill set improvement so that they may be successful in any career choice.
