Whitelock Community Farm

Whitelock Community Farm began in 2010 when Reservoir Hill residents converted a vacant lot into an active urban farm with the help of hundreds of volunteers. The continued support of neighbors and the wider community has spirited our vision to improve access to healthy food. Whitelock Community Farm works to create educational, skill building, and leadership development opportunities; increase access to healthy, affordable food; foster positive community activity; and promote dialogue about food access, neighborhood development, and environmental justice. Whitelock Community Farm increases access to healthy food by distributing produce through a weekly farm stand and mobile market sites. A Double Dollars program allows customers to double their purchasing power when using food assistance. The farm also sells produce at the Waverly Farmers Market through the Farm Alliance and to local restaurants. Whitelock Community Farm's programming includes educational partnerships with local schools, a youth summer internship program, a work-share training program, and community workshops, potlucks and events.
